Serving Woodford and the local area for over 100 years. The Uplands was first established in October 1920 and has been welcoming members new and old ever since. A community hub providing a home for clubs and associations. We are a non-profit organization with a committee dedicated to providing the best for all its members.
Members of the Uplands benefit from the numerous events that are hosted in our 3 licensed bars across the year. Members also have access to our recently refurbished snooker room, pool table and dart boards along with Sky & BT Sports. Our beautiful main hall is very popular for weddings, parties, christenings and corporate conferences / functions and is complete with its own AV system. Membership runs from January to December and this provides discounted prices at the bar as well as hire of facilities. We also regularly host tribute bands / acts and these are open to the general public or non-members.
At The Uplands we try to ensure we have something for everyone and take pride in being family friendly. During the year we have live singers performing regularly in our front bar area (most Saturday evenings). Every Sunday evening, we have bingo along with professional compare and keyboard player, it’s also our open-mic sing along night. That’s not all! During the Spring and Summer months we also host numerous BBQ’s and parties for all ages, including numerous kids parties throughout the year with professional entertainment staff for our little VIP’s
Located just off Chigwell Road and close to local amenities (tube station and bus stops), we also have ample free parking for our members and customers

Joining fee for anyone 25 and over is £20 (one off payment), annual membership is only £50 per year, although an extra £50 of credit will also need to be placed on your membership card at the time of joining / renewal (this can be used across the bar for any purchases). Anyone lucky enough to be between the ages of 18-25 can benefit from our young adult membership scheme, which is half the price!! Therefore £25 annual membership + £25 credit on your members card.
